The performance is free and open to the public
at The Community Music School of Webster
University. It begins at 6:30. It will begin
with the Euclid Quartet performing quartets by
Haydn and Debussy. Vera Parkin (piano) will then
join the Euclid Quartet to premier "Caprice" by
Kim Portnoy. For the big finale, Dana (clarinet)
will be taking the stage with the quartet to
premiere "Gypsy Suite", by SLSO violist and
composer Christopher Woehr.
We are excited to announce our first
ever VERY OPEN
REHEARSAL! What
is
a VOR? Never heard of it? Here's
what happens: Jen, Dana and Melissa will
rehearse music we are performing on our
January 21st concert. You, at any time, can
stop us and ask us questions. Yes, really,
you will be a part of the rehearsal. We just
might ask you some questions too. If you've
ever been curious as to what musicians
actually DO in rehearsals, now is your
chance to find out! Don't miss this
incredible opportunity to truly be a part of
the music! To
learn
more, visit our blog.
We were
on TV! Again! Dana and Hannah talk about CPStL
and our upcoming Strings Attached
program!
Our
Folk
Freedom concerts were a blast! We can
wait to play the winning piece again in our
Audience Choice Concert on June 1 2012!
We continue to grow - we're excited to
announce that Nina Ferrigno, piano, is our
newest core member! Nina has been performing
with us from the very start, and we are
thrilled to have her on board in a more
official way1 She's playing every concert we
have this fall - so come on out and hear her!
Due to the inquisitive nature of our audience
(you guys have some great questions!) we
decided to start a blog! We're going tell
stories about what it's like to be a musician,
talk about the music we love, and who knows
what else! We'll keep them fairly short, so
you can easily add a little music to your day
from time to time! CLICK HERE to check it out,
and subscribe if you'd like it to just land in
your in box!
Rehearsals
this
past weekend for Folk Freedom were
fantastic. We had the pleasure of rehearsing
at The Tavern of
Fine Arts. The acoustics
were great! The Prokofiev is such and
interesting and fun piece, and provides the
unusual opportunity to rehearse with the big
double bass! Today we had a meeting to move
us the next step closer to filing our 501c3
paper work! A great way to start the season!
We can't wait to share it with all of you!
